Hi guys, first post, sorry for being such a n00bish topic. I currently have T-Mobile but down the road soon I plan on switching to Verizon for better coverage. I currently have a Nexus One with CM6 and I LOVE it. If I switch to Verizon I have it narrowed down between the Droid Incredible and Droid X, but I can't decide between the two. Overall I know I prefer Sense to Blur, and I know the Incredible can load custom ROM's like Cyanogen but the Droid X cannot, because of the locked bootloader and such. I don't like the prospect of having to have bloatware and I want to be able to use the phone the way I want to without having to pay for tethering necessarily if I do want to use it, but at the same time just from a general hardware perspective the Droid X is undeniably one of the most impressive phones out there to date. I'm just curious to hear from you folks out there, if you had to pick between the two would you pick Droid Incredible, or Droid X?

Also I'm not sure if this is in the right forum or if it should have been posted in the verizon section, if needed mods feel free to place topic in correct forum. :)

If you go through with the switch my personal preference is always going to be the non-Moto one. A couple of bad experiences left me feeling that way.

However, is your coverage that bad that you're not going to stay on T-Mobile for the G2. I'm almost ready to move to the US for a G2 at this point.

Well right now I work for T-Mobile but I am looking for a new job. I don't live in an HSPA+ coverage area so i wouldn't reap much benefit from owning the G2. It's moreso I want reliable coverage everywhere I go, I went to Kentucky recently and was ony getting GPRS on my phone, while if roaming on AT&T for example I would get EDGE, lol!

Ahh. ok then. I'll forgive you. To be honest I think in your case I would wait to see what is announced by Verizon in the next month or two. It's coming up for Holiday shopping and there will definitely be new handsets.

I love HTC Sense vs blur or vanilla droid.
I also love the form factor of the incredible, but the battery life is not great.
There are more accessories for the X than there are for the DINC, but it depends on your wants. can't go wrong with either.

I just recieved my droid x yesterday. I was a 2 year long iphone user and have a imac and macbook for my home computers. I couldn't be happier with my switch to this phone. I am completely blown away by the amount of customization that I can control. Verizon service smokes At&t in my area. Still learning and lurking here trying to maximize my new phone. This is my first post here so Hi also! X is it!

Everybody I know with Incredible says battery life is not good and my X is miserable compared to my Blackberry.

I think I'm going to choose return my X, not get an Incredible and wait out the successor to the Storm 2.

Email and Exchange sync are a junk show compared to other phones I have, had, and administer.

There's much fun about these phones but right now it's looking like I want effective tool more than cool toy and I hope my mind will change before my return date.

You have 30 days to exchange or return and that helped trigger my current experiment.

Froyo makes it easier from what I understand. Phone takes up more juice because it does more with widgets, etc. the S3 won't have the capacitive screen (I think).

At least you gave it a shot and are choosing which device works for you instead of saying BB is the best everything else stinks. Or Android is where it's at, etc.

I fully realize what's important to me is probably not important or same as the lives of others. As a systems and security admin I keep 4 professional and one personal email account on my phone so that's why the state of my phone with the SMTP problem and poor ActiveSync gnaws at me. Every other person I know with same phone does games, www browsing and social networking more than I do.

Thanks.
