Can't decide..Note 9 or S10?

I am currently rocking the S7 edge...it was a good phone, but it lags really bad now even after cleaning it up and the battery is about toast, I get up at 0600 and by 1100, it is down to below 40%, and that is when it just sits on my desk...i may get a random snap or text from my wife every now and then, but damn.

Previous to that, I had a Note 3 and loved it....miss the note...so I was totally prepared to get a Note 9, but now, i'm intrigued by the rumors of the S10....I can't decide...I am so ready to upgrade...what would some of you do?

6 weeks away from S10s I assume.

Factory refresh and clean minimal setup without restoring, see how it fares. Keep going fir two months. Or find Note 9 in sure you'll be happy with and with Pie dropping weeks away.

I am heavy user and 10% per hour is norm for me. With phones that are not a year old. Huawei and Apple gave been best on battery life but I always try to have Note and smaller Galaxy S.

Five months after the S10 is out so will the Note 10. Maybe an S10 Lite as an interim.

Note holds up well, holds it's resale value so even buying now and still possible to trade for S10 Note next Aug/Sept.

You aren't kidding about the resale value....I had a Note 3, bought it new, used it and upgraded to the S5, and was still able to sell it for $300 with an extra battery and 2 cases..it was, what...2 behind at that point? When I get phones I usually keep them for at least 2 yrs, or until the battery starts to crap out.

I've been away from the Notes since the #5 and just recently came back to the #9 not quite a week ago.

I've been with HTC'S and LG's and as good as they were always missed the Notes.

The 9 is what I say go ahead and get. They have made a huge improvement in them from everything I have seen.

Agree with Gayle.

I always like to wait for the Note series because it seems to be a S model on steroids to me. Factor in the S-pen and more square appearance and it's the perfect phone for me.

I've had a ton or S7's and a few Note 9's but am now on a Note 8 since I prefer the weight and size of the 8 over the 9.

My choice would be to get the Note 9 (or N8 at killer price) or hold off until the N10 releases.

It's all about that SPen for me. I'm excited to see the S10 because it will give us a little glimpse of what is coming on the Note 10. Anytime I use a phone other than a Note, I miss the pen.

If you don't care about the pen then, by all means, wait and check out the S10. I'm sure it will be a great phone.

That other factor is price. You can get deals on the Note 9. I waited about 3 months after release on the Note 8 in 2017 and then the Note 9 in 2018 and got each for $250-300 off original price. I think you're buying at a good time if you're looking for the Note 9.

Like others have said the S10 is coming out in like two months or so. It all depends on you. I'm pretty sure the S10 is going to cost at least 800-900 at the minimum and can go over 1k. I personally don't believe phones are worth 1k hell even 800-900. These shiny new tech phones at most I would say 700-750 max. These phones dont last more than two-three years max before battery life goes crap. I got lucky Ebay had a 15% off whole site like two weeks ago and picked up the Note 9 for 680...

definitely wait it out , the s10 be in March then decide but price wise your going get a better deal then the s10 . so if you waited this long to upgrade another month in a half and you'll know your decision. good luck either way you'll be happy.

Personally my vote would be the Note 9.

Reasons:
Has a headphone jack
No notch or hole punch
Has the S Pen

Well...I think at this moment, I am gonna wait it out...seeing as there are not deals with ATT or at Best Buy for Note 9's....unless something pops up between now and the pre-order. I agree with mustang7757, i'm pretty sure i'll be happy with either one.

Price wise you would get a killer deal on a Note 8 which would be a very nice upgrade from S7 plus you would still get a good trade in price for the Note 8 if you decide on either S10 or Note 9 or 10 later

If you're going to make the jump you might as well go with the latest. If the Note 10 was out when I made my Note 9 purchase, I wouldn't have thought twice about going 10. And cost would have not factored in. Point here is if I were willing to pay a grand for the Note 9, then the same would have applied to the Note 10.

BTW I jumped from the S7 Edge to the Note 9 myself. No regrets.
