Updates G06

The shop that sells the G06 here in Norway says there are safety updates until October 2026.
I can not believe this, it should have Android 15, so I cannot understand that the updates are so short.
What can I expect from this? How long is it safe to use this phone for example to use a bank-app?

Moto is notorious for poor update support, especially for its budget phones. According to Moto themselves, that phone should get security patches until Aug 2027 (not 2026), although this is from the US support site -- not sure if it's different for Norway: https://en-us.support.motorola.com/app/software-security-update/g_id/7112/productid/12386

In general, I think it's safe to continue using a phone that's hit its support end of life for another couple of years afterwards. Keep in mind that the phone should still keep getting Google Play system updates, which are updates Google pushes out that patch or improv various Google apps and services: https://support.google.com/product-documentation/answer/11462338?hl=en. You can find these by looking for the Security menu in your system settings.
