Can't delete AT&T apps

I came looking for answers... This is my first Android phone, an AT&T Captivate using a straighttalk SIM.

OK, I got a Samsung Captivate, and had it running with my straighttalk SIM card in no time. Also got it unlocked and rooted, with much more effort. But even though it's unlocked and rooted, I still can't go into MANAGE APPS and get rid of all the AT&T crap on it. If I have superuser, shouldn't I be able to do this?

Thanks for any help!

You'll need to use a root enabled file browser, or an app that can delete/freeze system apps. I personally use Titanium, but there are many options.

As far as using a root enabled file browser, ES Explorer is a good free one. The "manage apps" in the phone only looks at /data/apps, you'll want to look at the /systesm/apps folder. Use caution, removing the wrong things can lead to a buggy experience, or even a phone that won't boot.

Titanium Backup - you can remove any app on the phone with it.....
I think you will have to have the bought version though.....

Just our of curiosity how do you like StraightTalk? I am seriously thinking about taking my Samsung Note 2 over to them to save some money.
