can't delete backup photos

I have pictures on my phone in a folder called auto backup. There is a Picasa symbol next to the folder.

I deleted the pictures from online in Google +. However it is still on my phone. There is nothing that obviously lets me delete on my phone.

How can I delete them?

Have you tried un-syncing Google + from your phone?

Go to account and sync settings, select back up, change your email and it will delete the data that you do not want on there, it will not delete anything personal
