Can't delete documents from My Files!

I'm trying to free up some room. I went to My Files, then My Documents and found a lot of old docs that I downloaded for one-time purposes only, and so I went to delete them, only to get a Failed to Delete notification. These are Word docs and Adobe files I downloaded myself, nothing important. How come I can't delete them??? Help!

You can always plug the phone directly to your PC.
