can't download anything from play store

my phone was fine up until yesterday,when i was on wi-fi and i started downloading an app,so the downloading icon that appears on top right appeared and disappeared,while the downloading bar was just spiraling and my download was not initiating and it didn't show up any kind of error,so i restarted my phone,then i was able to download the app.but today again when i was on a different wi fi connection,same thing happened to me and this time even a restart didn't help,any help would be appreciated,thanks.

Welcome to Android Central! Does it work on a mobile data connection? What phone do you have?

Try going to Settings>Apps>All, select Google Play Store, and Force Stop, then Clear Cache/Data. Do the same for Download Manager. Now try again.
