can't download apps to my SD card which is my internal memory?

I recently bought a 32G SD card for my Moto G3. I formatted the SD card as internal memory so that i would be able to download apps onto the card. However, when i download apps they continue to store on my phones internal memory and not my SD card. when I try to manually move them to the internal SD card, i'm not given the option to do so.

it has been this way fro a few months now and i am growing frustrated

When you format the SD card as internal storage, the SD card is no longer considered separate storage. The phone gets to pick where files are written to.
