Can't download .zip files?

OK I eventually got Netflix installed on my 8.9 via the helpful thread below, but man I had a doozy of a time getting to the .zip file patch. First, I had emailed it to myself, and within the Gmail App I would click on it and it got an error of something like "sorry, there is no program to view this file". So I went to download it straight from the thread, but it would only download the .htm link, not the actual zip file. I downloaded ASTRO, Download All, and Think Office and tried everything again to no avail. Finally, I thought I would try accessing my Gmail account via the browser instead of the app, and lo and behold I was able to download the zip file from there. Anyone know what the deal might be?

Try Dolphin HD browser or Dolphin for Tabs. I was able to download the ZIP without issue straight from the thread here.

For the Netflix thread, I used ES File Explorer to pull it down from my desktop via wireless. You could have also used USB.
