Can't enter password, no keyboard appears after restarting, how do I boot to recovery?

I have Nextbook 8, quad-core Android tablet with 4.2 Jelly bean. I have powered off and back on several times, the keyboard won't load so that the password can be entered, it shows the microphone, but won't let me choose it to speak the password. I have no other keyboard installed besides the basic one it comes with. Do I have to do factory reset? If so, how do I boot to recovery mode since I can't enter password? Thanks, Melissa
