Can't flash kernel

Okay so every time I flash a kernel on bamf sense 3.0 I get soft bricked ish what to do cuz dream kernel kills my battery horribly I want lean kernel

to tackle this, a few questions first

1) have you flashed kernels before?
2) what steps are you taking?
3) what do you mean by "soft brick"?

download the kernel, (for ease) place on the root of your SD card, reboot into recovery, choose zip from sd card, navigate to kernel location, apply, reboot, done

either the kernel is bad (check md5sum if provided)

or

sounds like you might have a file on the root of your sdcard called "PG05IMG.zip" from any radio (did you recently flash a radio like MR2 or MR2.5?) you recently flashed & possibly forgot to remove? this would keep the phone in a constant bootloop as it keeps trying to update the radio since that file name is present on the root of the sd card.
