Can't get data access message to stop coming up while outside the US

I had this problem in Canada a few months back, and I wanted to be able to text, so turning off data wasn't an option. I never did find a good solution.

From what I can tell this definitely seems to be a legitimate bug.

The airplane mode and manual wifi has worked perfectly for me though, since I didn't need to make any calls or text anyone.

If anybody is in my position, out of the country and getting the same annoying message over and over again, but doesn't need to make calls or need a phone signal for anything, I highly recommend the airplane mode and manual wifi solution.

You can go on my verizon online and remove all global capabilities which will block all global data and voice which will prevent these messages from popping up. Or you can call vzw support as well.

Good to know. And this can be turned off and back on if need be?
