Did a hard reset last night and now my earthlink email will not send. Keep getting authentication error. Incoming mail is fine, just can not send. Strange thing is that before the hard reset, I had it working, having a bad case of CRS.

Been here https://motorola-global-portal.cust.../droid-x---earthlink,-mindspring-email-set-up ...no joy.

Tried smtpauth.earthlink.net and smtp.earthlink.net. Tried checking and unchecking "use secure connection" and "verify certificate".

Tried outgoing port 25 & 587, no joy.

I use outlook express on the pc and checked the outgoing settings and they are smpt.earthlink.net port 25.

just got off the phone w/earthlink today b/c of the same problem on my evo. first (this will seem obvious) make sure your account type is set to pop, then make sure you use your entire email address as username in both incoming and outgoing servers. so far same as linked page. incoming: pop.earthlink.net; "none" for security type; and port 110
outgoing: full email as username and check show password to make sure you have it correctly. server: smtpauth.earthlink.net; security type "none"; then outgoing port 587. i would delete the account and set it up new from scratch. i think this is pretty much what the linked page said but maybe in this order the way its set up on my evo will help. good luck here is the number to earthlink email support: 1-800-817-5508
