Cant get group text messaging to work

I have recently moved my number from my iPhone on a 3 contract to a Huawei p10 on a Vodafone contract. I was able to send and receive group text messages on my iPhone but I am having problems with it on the Huawei. I can send a text to a group but it seems to go through as a mass text so each person receives it individually and replies individually rather than as part of a group. Is there a way to change this? I'm also not sure if it a problem with Huaweis messaging app or with android? Thanks

Welcome to the forums as a new member! Using the same procedure on my S8+ with Messages creates a true group conversation, so I would guess something with the Huawei or it's messaging app. There are quite a few SMS apps in the Play store, you might look at one of those.

Thanks I don't really want to download an app to duplicate another app that I already have so I would rather find out if others are having the same problem or if I've just not got it set up correctly?

Which app are you using for messaging? It could be an issue with the default Messaging app, I installed Android Messages form the Play Store and have been using that with no issues. It just sucks that its a system app and can't be uninstalled.
