Can't get into private mode

My private mode used to use my fingerprint to unlock, which was ok with me. But one day it switched to pin number. The problem is, I don't remember making a pin number for it. I have no clue why it got rid of fingerprint access. My finger prints are still active but I can only use the pin to get in. Any ideas
