Can't get recovery to work

My phones rooted and in trying to backup then flash a rom but I can't get into recovery I have the bootstrapper installed as well as rom manager. I tried bootstrapping then recovery from droid x bootstrap after flashing recovery in tom manager. All the phone does is reboot shows the Motorola logo and turns black I have to battery pull to reboot. How the he'll can I get into recovery.

Bootstrap for DX does not work. You need to install Bootstrap for D2.
