I Can't get rid of Facebook notifications no matter what I do???

I added the Facebook app when my uncle sent me some links, but I got tired of the CONSTANT LED blue light notification and it showing up when I swipe the top of Note 4 down.

I tried deleting the Facebook app, but it won't let me, it just lets me force stop/disable and the app disappears from Applications Manager & Apps Icon/Apps. However when if I click on the apps icon, then the three icon app in upper right corner, then I see it in the "Show disabled apps".

How do I get rid of this Pain in the Azz Facebook notification???

Unfortunately, I think it's one of those bloatware apps that u can't delete. All u can do is disable and hide it.

Are you saying that you are getting notifications from the Facebook app even when you have it disabled?

I am a Facebook user and allow the app to be logged into my account, but I have all notifications turned off in the app settings because I only want to see Facebook when I run it manually. And that has always worked for me, as I never see any unsolicited notifications from Facebook.

I realize that this may not help you, but I just wanted to say that it should be possible to have Facebook installed and enabled, and to never see any notifications from it.

If you go to settings, applications, Facebook, you can uncheck the option that says get notifications. That should stop it.

If you read my first post, you will see where it is not listed in Applications or in Apps as I disabled it... YET I still get the blue notification and when I swipe down at the top of the screen. That said, how do I get rid of Facebook! I only signed up recently on FB as my Uncle asked me to... to see his post. To me FB is just one big gossip center and I don't go on there much and I hate those constant notifications. Does anyone else find this irritating?

I did that and I'm still getting the blue LED notification and showing up when I swipe the screen down.
This is frustrating. I hate FB. Is there anyway to disable it on FB itself?

If you go in the app to the settings menu and then to notifications, you can turn it off from there.

You talking about the Note 4 settings or Facebook online settings? I have the Facebook app disabled on the phone and hidden and still getting all these FB notifications.

Facebook settings. Enable the Facebook app and turn off notifications and then disable it again.

Enable the app. Make sure you are completely signed out and notifications are turned off. Then disable it again

I fixed the problem by going to my Facebook page and then going to settings at top right corner, then turned off everything there.
Strange thing is I never turned everything on there, Facebook must have done that.

I think it's usually done by default.

I did read your post. If you go to the disabled tab under your apps settings, it will be there and you can uncheck the option to receive notifications. Every app that you disable has is located in the disabled tab.

Actually, that didn't fix the problem either! Wow... I really hate Facebook now. What a Pain in the Azz to turn off. Like some of you suggested, not only did I have to go to my online FB account and turn everything off, (which I thought fixed it... NOPE) I also had to un-disable my FB app on the phone and go into settings there and turn everything off, then disable it again.
Now I'll sit back and see if that works. Did I say I hate FB?

Disable Facebook app.
Clear data in the app.
Force stop the app.

Go to Facebook online and delete the account.
Go into browser settings and delete saved Facebook info.

Make new account and don't save passwords for Facebook.

It works. My granddaughter has been banned from using other family members phones because of this issue.

I think the quickest way to resolve this is just go to your application manager on your phone, locate the FB app, clear cache then delete data. Now disable the app again.

As long as you're not signed in you won't receive FB notification.

I had a similar issue. Facebook suddenly started sending me emails, which led to notifications on my phone.
So from another device, not my phone, I went into my fb settings. Hit notifications and checked out what was allowed. Made changes.
After Notifications I went to Mobile and double checked those settings as well.
If that does not resolve the issue seems prudent to re-able the app, get it going and change the settings from inside the app.
That assumes you want to keep a fb account. If you want to divorce fb from your word then disable the account and follow the steps outlined by another poster (seems a granddaughter caused havoc with family members' phones and she found a way to stop it).

Lot of good advice here. I hate the way Facebook controls things. It seems like you have to do things on the settings both online & on the phone to stop those notifications. I think I finally got rid of it... I'll know more after another day.
