Can't hear any notifications since software update

I downloaded the latest software update and since that time, I can't hear any notifications very well. The text message notification is very difficult to hear, and there have been times when I've received an e-mail, but haven't heard a thing. Can anybody help?

Funny, I thought I was the only one. I get texts at time and don't even hear them. Not even with a different ring tone than stock. Any ideas?

Anybody else having this issue? If so, I'd love a solution, if possible. Also, rub2008, thanks for chiming in.
