Rooted, running BAMF 6.3. Remixed.

Trying to install leanKernel extreme over BAMF. I downloaded to the SD card, reboot into CWR, and install zip from SD card.

It says it installs, but when I check the kernel in about phone, it has the BAMF kernel listed.

2.6.35.13 - imoseyon-sp-2.4-hgbe004c44b71-dirtyroot@ubuntu #64

Any ideas on getting this installed? There are plenty of people who have gotten it to work, according to posts over at XDA.

Any help is appreciated.

its under advanced
Blah, got it, cleared the dalvik and the cache under Cw, installed the zip, and still showing the old kernel. I can't get it take.

[Kernel] leanKernel: minimalistic kernel, v2.4.6 (sense 5/12/11), v2.0.5 (cm7 5/4/11) - xda-developers

THREE VERSIONS (SENSE)
1) lean: stripped down and minimalistic. undervolt/overclock/slots are now controlled by the "speedtweak.sh" script (more info below)
2) special edition: slightly less lean. Supports in-call recording, and TUN. "speedtweak.sh" script also available.
3) 246Mhz (temporary): lean version with 184Mhz permanently locked out. (246Mhz is lowest) Use this version if you're experiencing battery drain or heat.

I tried the lean and the special edition.

Kinda scratching my head at this point.

Is this what is listed when you check your kernel version? If so, it looks to me like you are now running what you wanted. The lean kernel is done by imoseyon. I'm not sure what the most current version of imoseyon's kernel is, but what is listed above is not one of adrynaline's bamf kernels.

Imoseyon's is the lean kernel yeah

The info you posted shows you're running leanKernel. Imoseyon is the creator of leanKernel.

thanks for your help. I am a dork...I wasn't able to get into the speektweak.sh via the terminal emulator because I spelled tweak (spelled it tweek) wrong. I assumed that I didn't have the correct kernel since I couldn't get in via the terminal. Stupid syntax error.

@notjustaphone, I had a BB Tour, I thought it was the greatest phone ever when I got it... Trackball issues until I was sent a 9650 Bold and then I got a Droid X and realized how bad the BB were.

I also didn't need the BB for work anymore, so glad to get out from under RIM.

No worries, we've all been there.

I've been using BlackBerries for a long time. Started with the 950 (looked like a pager and ran on an AA battery) and have had always had a BB of some sort ever since. My Tour is a work device and is fine for the purpose of having access to work email. Want more out of a personal device and nothing that RIM offers suits my needs.

My last personal BB was a Storm 2, and it drove me nuts. Switched to my TBolt on launch day and glad I made the move.
