Ics 4.0.1 alpha (aosp)

I am running the 1209-merge Rom and it also broke the wifi tether. When I was on V3 I could use Barnicle without any problems, but it seems to be broken now. I also tried to install the CMsettings.apk, but can't figure out how to change the permissons. Does anyone know how to do this?

-Put the apk on your sdcard -Open root explorer (or your root file manager of choice) and copy the apk on your sdcard, then navigate to the /system/app directory -hit the Mount R/W button -Use root explorer (or your root file manager of choice) and copy the apk to the /system/app directory -Change permissions to: [x] [x] [o] [x] [o] [o] [x] [o] [o] -Reboot

-Or just use adb and do it in 3 commands, refer to Adrynalyns ADB workshop.

This is not from me just sharing

I got it! Helps if you know what you are doing! This is the 1st time I've used Root Explorer + I'm kind of a noob! LOL!

Sorry guess i shoulda read the post a bit better. You wanted to know HOW TO not WHAT TO.
For anyone else... to change permissions go to system/app folder with root explorer, mount r/w, long press on the desired app and options will pop up. select permissions and do your thing

No problem, just made me look at what I was doing wrong. Thanks for the help though! :)

Been running for about a week and other than the camcorder and mms it is amazing! Battery life isn't the best but I suppose it's about the same as an unrooted phone. Thanks to everyone involved in putting this out there!

those are what I'm having problems with too, other than that it's great!

Isn't TeamHacksungs and this AOSP one completely different?

I am running the AOSP one that was in Post #1 by Dirrk and I wanted to go to TeamHacksungs, BUT from what I gathered, it's a different process to get from this one to Build 4 of TeamHackungs.

am I wrong?

This is Build 1 I assume which is essentially the same as Teamhacksung's. Although I do recommend flashing Build 2 instead of just going from Build 1 to 4 due to a significant number of changes in the ROM.

I'm on build 6 and my wifi doesn't seem to stay connected. I have the setting for wifi to always stay on, but it won't. Anyone else having this problem or is it just me? Any help is appreciated, thanks.
