Hello, everyone. I have a Qmobile Noir A110 mobile phone (local Pakistani brand). I deleted Whatsapp yesterday to reinstall the newer version, but for some strange reason, i cant do that. As you can see you from the screenshot below, i have a lot of free space - i deleted a few apps too.

Here is my SD card space -

So this is what happens . I go to the app store and it starts installing. I noticed something very strange . while it is installing, i open the upper notification bar and it shows the progress bar of the installation. However, the progress bar is downloading it rapidly (contd) -

.....While the app store's progress bar is far behind and slower ...

And then, as soon as the notification bar's progress bar is completed to a 100%, this is error message i get in the app store window -

Can someone help please ? I just want to install whatsapp as i have to talk to my colleagues about work. if anyone knows the solution, please help me out .

It might be that the installation is going to take place to your system storage, not the SD Card. There, you only have 47MB available. The Whatsapp download alone is almost 20MB, and once it starts installing, the temporary files it creates might be enough to fill up your storage temporarily, but still enough to keep you from installing it.

Is there anything else you can delete from your internal memory?

You should make sure the installation happens to your SD card instead of the internal storage.

I am having the same problem and my external SD card has 7 GB free space. Something else must be happening

The app storage is on the internal memory of the device. You can't have the app install entirely onto the external SD card for various reasons. The solution is to delete any unused apps or services. As a temporary fix, you can clear the cache of your apps. However, this is only temporary and you'll run into the same issue once the cache starts to rebuild.

Re: Cant Install Whatsapp - "Insufficient storage available" FIXED

I just fixed this problem. Found the solution on Android StackExchange website (Cant post links yet)

It seems a bug in Google play store update.

Go to google play store in Settings >> apps >> all >> Google Play Store
Open by clicking the app
Then click Uninstall Updates.

Now go to play store and install any apps without getting "Insufficient Storage Available". After installing / updating WhatsApp, you might be asked to update Google Play Store, you can go ahead with that.
