Hey guys,

So I got my hands on a factory-unlocked, hacked Nexus One, running the latest (2.2) version of Android OS (which ppl seem to call FROYO!?! right??).

I managed to download a few apps on the market straight away, but then, when I decided to put in my SIM card and make it a phone as well as an amazing handheld computer,, it all went wrong...

When I try to enter Android Market now. It says I've entered the wrong password, and displays a gmail account I have never heard of! (probably belongs to the previous owner...) Now, I tried removing his account, on the account&sync page, but it didn't allow me to, saying that the only way to remove that account, was to restore to factory default.

Unfortunately, that is not an option, as I have a custom-designed app which I use everyday for work, and is not available to the public (thus, making it impossible to reinstall?! or is there a way to back up that specific app and then restoring it after the clean reset is done?)

I'd love to hear from you guys, as you surely know more about this than me! I'm so anxious to explore the market properly, as I feel it will seal the deal for me! NO MORE IPHONE/APPLE BULLSH!T

Let me know if I missed any essential info needed to fix this!

thanks in advance,

Titanium Backup in the market can backup your apps + their data. i'm not sure but if you never added the data package to your account that may be the issue. do that and do a factory reset and you should be alright. make sure you dl titanium on wifi and backup your apps first though

This is a nexus one, right? It supports untrusted sources. That's how you probably got this app on the phone in the first place. So why can't you reinstall this custom designed app the same way?

There are two methods:

1) There is an option for installing from untrusted sources in the Nexus one. Side load it and install it.

2) Android Central has published an installer that works on any Android phone without rooting the phone.

Just get Astro. Backup the App. Copy it off somewhere if necessary.

Reset to factory, change accounts, use Astro to put the .apk back on the phone.

You had to have gotten that app onto the phone from somewhere, why not do it the same way after factory reset?
