Can't make a call

Yesterday my original Pixel would not place a call. It never connected and never rang. A few hours later, it was fine. But then Assistant kept giving me error messages when trying to send an SMS. This is one day after upgrading to Android 10. The phone call issue has actually been going on for a year. Usually, flipping airplane mode on and off would fix it. Incoming calls have always been fine. Did a factory reset a few months ago, to no effect. Tech support has no other suggestions. Am I the only one with this problem? Is there any alternative besides buying a new phone?

Does this happen in Safe Mode as well? Do you have any carrier apps installed, like My Verizon?

Thanks for replying. It's on Google Fi, bought direct from the Google store, so no carrier apps. Yes, the problem persists even in safe mode.

I wonder if it's a Fi issue. Do you have access to a SIM from a different carrier (like from a family member) that you can pop in and test?

Or can you just call Fi customer service on another phone? (Or call that phone from another one, to see if the device has a problem with phone calls.)

For any Verizon consumers having a similar issue with long durations before ringing starts, it's the My Verizon app as @B. Diddy was hinting at. Uninstall and make a call, it should work fine. Reinstalling the app did NOT appear to bring the problem back.

Never had that problem.... Strange
