Can't open photos

Hello, suddenly I can't open photos that I send from my Verizon Samsung Galaxy S4 to my email account. It says the file is damaged or else it's in a format that it doesn't recognize. My previous photos have worked on the same email account. Any ideas what the issue might be? Thank you in advance!

Do the photos view fine on the S4? What format are the photos being saved?
