Android Central Question

When I try pasting stuff in my mobile the paste button is unhighlighted which means its unclickable. I believe the reason is that there is a notification on my mobile which concerns USB file transfer when I click on it shows that my mobile is in 'control' but when I try making my pc in control it says 'couldn't switch'. I can copy and paste stuff from my mobile to my pc.

Welcome to Android Central! If you're trying to transfer files from the PC to your phone, don't use the copy/paste function -- that's for text. Connect the phone via USB, then swipe down the notification panel, tap the USB notification, and make sure MTP/File Transfer is selected. Then use Windows File Explorer to copy the files from the PC hard drive to the phone's storage.

And remember, you have to copy before you have something to paste. Even if you have a file highlighted in the PC, you can't paste it to the phone until you copy it. (Dragging it to the phone window is a lot easier. Just open an Explorer window for the phone, open whatever folder you want to paste the file in, then drag and drop. [Don't do too many files at once - that overheats the USB chip and causes the copy to fail.])
