This is very interesting considering they were playing youtube trailers and other sorts out the HDMI at ever convention.

Not true. I have an Evo and the HDMI cable and ran some tests. Here are my findings:

Did you have to resize the MP4 videos?Im curious since i have a libary full of 720p-1080p super high quality mp4 music videos. Does it play any other format besides mp4?

I did not do any resizing. I simply copied over a couple of mp4 music videos I had laying around. They had been previously optimized for video iPod playback.

What I will try next is copying a full movie that I ripped into mp4 using Nero (roughly 2gb for a 2 hour movie) and see how that works.

Besides 720/1080p, I am wondering what's the highest bit rate the EVO can handle too. Would be nice if I can put good quality HD movies on the phones and bring it to my friend's house and watch them on my friend's TV.
