My wife & myself just switched from (her) iPhone 5c, (me) BlackBerry z10 to (both) Samsung Galaxy Mega 2.
We ran into a crazy thing on her text messages only from other past contacts that were still on a iPhone. When they would try to send her a text message, the send message notification bubble would turn blue and the text would sit in the other persons out state. The message would not send to my wife's Mega 2.
However, she could send them text with no issues. Perplexed yet?
Here is the real crazy kicker. I have been in IT for over 35yrs. Here is what I found out with hours of hacking the issue to find out what was really going on. Believe it or not it was all due to a simple fact. (Most hard issues in IT are most of the time simple) It was that her old iCloud account was still active. I went online and removed her old account. (Not needed anymore). That was the main problem. Next (and this maybe over kill) I wiped her old iPhone to new state and removed the Sim Card. Then took the Mega 2 to the AT&T store and told them of the issue and requested a new Sim Card. She would loose nothing because her contacts are stored in the phones memory. Had one of her friends from a iPhone who was aware of the issue send her a text. Poof! Problem solved. I never had the issue from any of my iPhone friends as I never had a iCloud account being on Blackberry.
The work around I also figured out before the fix was that on the iPhone if you click on the blue notification bubble it will prompt you on the iPhone to convert it to "text only" and it would then ship anyway.
In a nutshell if you were on a iPhone and now going to Android you have to delete your iCloud account or this issue will defiantly occure. The rest is a aftermath that may also be needed but not sure. I did not test with just deleting the iCloud account from the net.. (via browser is a recomended must)
Hope this helps someone else who is going crazy. Lol
