Can't receive Text + Picture while connected to WiFi

FWIW:

I received a picture (mms) text from Mr. GR's Evo here at my office, no problem. He and I are on the same family share plan, if that matters.

Same day I did not receive a picture text from a friend on Verizon until I left the office and the wifi disconnected.

I never had this issue with the Pre, maybe it is fixed in Froyo since Evo was fine to send?

android phones---mms issue solved for my case!!

I have a HTC evo, and I got off the phone with sprint today, and they were no help. I took off my battery, they update my profile, did some OTA configuration. they called me back to check again. and they asked me to do some more power off/on, and no help!!! I google and google, and found another thread somewhere else. I read that if you have downloaded a widget/app to toggle the network data off/on to turn your wifi on/off, that is what caused it. there is an app called quick setting, it messed up the APN configuration, causing the data network/ 3G to not work after you turn off your wifi to go back to 3G. therefore, no 3G. there are similar apps that arent campatiable with some of our android devices. this happen to me twice since owning the evo for 3 weeks. The first time, i had to do a factory reset without knowing the cause. The second time, i had to do a factory reset, but now, at least I know the cause. And to PREVENT this from happening again causing me to do a hard/factory reset; there is a app in the Market called APN backup restore. Download it, backup your APN setting. if you ever run into this issues in the future, your can restore your APN. I've tested this, and this was the cuase that threw my APN settingoff. This was a known issue with the hero is certain threads. If this help someone out there, GREAT. If not for others, oh well...this was my experince, with my long nights of reseach. I love the evo so much i did want to return it, but I sure wasnt going to deal with this issues. Currently, I have extended control widget to toggle data on/off, and no issues.
