Can't receive texts

This problem couldn't be resolved at Verizon so I thought I'd try people that actually know something about phones (I had to show the lady where Settings is, then the Menu button in Backup Assistant).

So this morning I suddenly couldn't receive texts messages. My friend said he was receiving a message back immediately saying his text couldn't go thru. It was working 20 minutes earlier. I had multiple people try it, nothing. The Verizon idiots spent an half an hour (probably Google searching for answers) and determined it was a bad phone. Here's where Verizon gets a F.U. --- "Sir the screen is cracked and any damage to the phone voids the warranty, here is the paperwork to file an insurance claim for a new phone."

If the experts here can't figure it out, I'll call to cancel my line and see if that helps to overlook the crack and send me a phone.

Any ideas??

(I CAN send texts, make/receive calls & data works)

Are you rooted. Can you receive texts from other people have you tried pulling battery, Sim and turning airplane mode on and off.

UPDATE: Called Verizon from my phone after noticing some odd error messages when I logged in on VerizonWireless.com. Turns out something needed to be reset on my account. The lady had it working in a matter of minutes. I almost spent $100 on a refurb for nothing. Why are cell companies so useless? The industry as a whole is pathetic.

And since I tried the factory reset like the lady said, I now have the joy of installing all my apps, accounts, widgets, etc again.
