Can't reinstall BBC news app on Android

I have used the BBC news app on my Android phone for quite a long time without problems. Recently, however, every time I have tried to run the app it has just given me a message that the BBC news service is currently unavailable, and I should try again later. If I tapped on the app it just closed down. I have unintallled the app and tried to reinstall it. Google play refuses to install it on the grounds that it is already installed, but the app is nowhere to be found on my phone. The application manager does not include the app in its list of all apps. Presumably there is some debris left from the old installation which is causing Google play to think it's still installed. Any help anyone?

Welcome to Android Central! Which phone? Are you trying to install it using the Play Store app, or the Play Store website?

Prompted by B. Diddy's question I tried again using the Play Store app instead of the Play Store website. This time it gave me an option to uninstall the BBC news app, and after that it did install. Unfortunately it's a new version of the app, with a user interface that I find much less useful than the old one, but at least I can use it again. Thanks, B. Diddy.

Ok, glad it's working again! It's always best to use the Play Store app on the device. The website will say it's "Installed" if you've ever installed it on any of your devices (not just the one you're currently using), even if you subsequently uninstalled it.
