Can't remove calendar alerts from lock screen in ICS

I've turned off all lock screen apps in the Display setting. I still get calendar reminders that display on the lock screen. This is a privacy issue for me. I don't want someone who picks up my phone to see something in a reminder that might be private. I can't figure this out. Can anyone help?
