Just downloaded a beta of Android 10, for my Oneplus 7 Pro.

I've noticed, under the kaypad there is a gray nav bar now. Currently using SwiftKey, but bar is still present with GBoard too

On the left of the nav bar is a minimise option, and on the right is input selection.

I've changed the navigation and gesture settings back to the old format, which has removed the minimise / input option, but still leaves the gray bar.

I was wondering if there is a way to completely remove this bar so the keypad returns to the very bottom of the screen.

My brain is melting looking through the settings, but to no avail. Help me Internet!

Thanks in advance 😁

Welcome to the forums. That's part of Android 10 and as far as I know there's no way to remove that bar and move the keyboard down. Maybe OP find a way to do it in their new update.

any solution on this? driving me crazy. I know it won't take too long to adjust to the keys being higher on the screen, but it's annoying

What version are you on?

I can only hit "more options" when I switch to One UI for home, but that option isn't there either

It appeared for me when updating to the Christmas/New Year's update.

This is how I fixed it

Open Settings > Navigation Bar > un-check "Show Button to Hide Keyboard"

Was using SwiftKey and this new bar in the bottom that has no real use, was driving me crazy. Probably something that the SwiftKey team will have to look into

Hope it helps!
