Can't remove SIM card?

Just got my GN3, and trying to put my existing SIM card in the slot, and there's already something in the slot and I can't get it out by sliding it out. Any help?

I used a push pin and stick it from the back of the SIM card and push it forward, then slide out the sim card with my thumb
