So just checking. When I get the S26U today if I just take out the Sim card from my S21U and pop it in the new phone, should I be good to go? If it matters, I'm with Verizon but the S26U is the unlocked version purchased from Amazon.

Also should I do the smart switch thing before or after I put the Sim card in the new phone or does it even matter?

And finally is there any reason to do the smart switch with the phones connected with a Usb-c to usb-c cable or wirelessly?

When I used sims I just took it out of the old phone and put it in the new one before I started Smart Switch. I used to do the switch using a cable but now do it wirelessly, it's easier and fast. Just turn on the new phone and it will walk you through the process.

When I got my 24 Ultra I did it wirelessly at work but what I was on break from Wi-Fi and it took no time cuz I don't do my pictures and videos. I don't know this time I went under Accounts and backup and it showed my s24 Ultra and I restored that way but a couple apps didn't cross over and I don't know my phone book I'm missing a couple people..

When you all add contacts does it save it to your phone or do you save it to Google I always used to save the Google but when I looked at settings on this phone it said save to phone and I switched it to Google but I'm missing a couple contacts I had to re ad back in.

In the beginning of the transfer process there's a part it asks for esim transfer so I let it do its thing, does it matter most likely not but probably makes the process faster if a sim or esim is installed for applications that need your number to bring back data app message

Getting my phone up and running with T-Mobile did not require me to put the sim card from my old S24 Ultra into the S26 Ultra. It was all accomplished via E-Sim. Just for good measure, after I was done transferring all my data and setting things up on my new phone, I went on T-Mobile's website and locked up my e-sim for better security.
