Can't rename a folder on Note 3 via PC Windows

[AC Question]

As stated in the subjuct line, Windows Explorer starts 'not responding' and have to restart it.

I can create a new folder via Windows Explorer but not proceed to rename it from 'new folder'.

I have also tried this on two different PCs with the same result.

I remember the days when Windows could see an Android phone as just an external drive and not just a media device. How I wish...

Does anyone know a solution to this issue? Do I need to install specific USB drivers?

You might be connected via MTP. MTP connection does not have the authority to rename folders. When you connect your phone to your computer do you have the option to choose as to what connection you wanted?

When I connect, a pop up message briefly appears on the phone 'Connected as a media devce'.

Windows doesn't have write permissions. I suggest using Samsung My Files to create and rename folders
