can't root my samsung prevail

Hi everybody, i have read all your threads and tried everything . Still can't root my samsung prevail.
I get the message of mount not possible or something similar.
I am using windows xp, is there something that im not doing or a file i am missing.
Please help.

Thank you for your prompt response.
That is the link that i tried many times and it doesn't work.
I tried when my phone was rebooting at the samsung logo and does not work.
Please help

so i have a boost mobile Samsung prevail and i tried every thing you offer i did z4 and all that did was make the phone freeze on reboot and when i do a battery pull its still the same i also tried androot and super one click so please help me cuz i really what me to have my phone rooted but i just dont want to brick it so please help me
