Can't stop Timely app sync?

I have disabled Googles Timely alarm clock app in the accounts section, but it keeps syncing when my phone is turned off, is there any way around this, without uninstalling the app?

Could not stop timely synching and keeping my device from sleeping. Timely is my favorite alarm app but I had to uninstall it the end. Surprising that Google can't control their own apps.
