Can't take photos of stored pokemons

After the new buddy update, I can take photos of my buddy thru the play button, but if I try to take a photo of any of my saved pokemons, when I click on the 'While using AR....." ok button, I get a blank screen with 'Slowly look around area with your camera' and nothing else.

Is there a different setting for camera to take stored pokemon pictures?
