Can't take photos

Hello.

I have a Moto E 2020 Model XT2052-1.

Whenever I try to take a photo, the camera zooms instead of taking a picture. I press the shutter button, and the screen shows 1x zoom. I press it again, and it shows 2x zoom, etc. No photo is taken. Also, it doesn't happen indoors, only outdoors.

Restarting the phone didn't help.

Any idea what's going on?

Try uninstalling updates for the camera, delete cash and data restart phone. Reinstall the updates and see what happens.

I'll try that tonight, then try try taking outside photos tomorrow morning.

Are you talking about deleting the cache partition?

Just in the app itself. Long press the icon and an info button should come up. Select it and find cash and app data and delete from there. Scroll down to the bottom and it should say app info follow it to app store and uninstall updates.

Welcome to Android Central! Just to be clear, you're talking about the shutter button on the screen, right? You're not using one of the physical buttons to act as the shutter release?
