Cant take picture with Pixel 2 on Manual time/date setting?

Im experimenting for fun. When auto time and date is on (Settings >System) i can take all the pictures i want and see them in my Photos instantly.

But the second i change the date manually (so its the wrong date and time) no photos show up in Photos. its as if i didnt take them at all.

Its like going to another country on vacation where the clock won't change automatically so you manually adjust the time.

Thoughts?

Sorry, I was unable to reproduce the problem you described. I changed the date to tomorrow (didn't fiddle with the time), took a picture and made sure that the Camera application was able to view it, then fired up the Photos app and it was immediately shown (with the new date) and the backup started.
