Can't tap and add a word into the Google dictionary

I used to be able to add words into the Google dictionary with a tap on my Note 4. There does not seem to be a way to do it on the N7 without going into the settings and adding a word into the dictionary. Am I missing something?

Now my dictionary is working so I guess we can just scratch this post!

Would you mind sharing what you did to fix the problem?

I have checked everything in the text correction setting besides blocking offense words and I also turned on Google spell checker under spelling correction, which is found just under the "default keyboard." After the word is underlined in red while texting, hit the space bar and then tap on the word. There you will get a chance to add to the dictionary.
