Received the Tab S11 Ultra early Wed morning. Initially at about 75% charge, I fully charged it before setup. Smart Switch from my Tab S9+ was flawless. Only issue I had was setting up face recognition to unlock failed to register; had to resort to fingerprint only. Will try again to register facial in different light.

The tab is certainly a difference in size from what I had been using? ( Tab S7+, S8+, S9+. Skipped the S10+.) But the thinner chassis keeps the weight pretty close to the feel of the S9+. I do NOT like the side mount for the SPen. When I hold the S11 Ultra in portrait, I knocked the SPen loose several times. Afraid the SPen is likely doomed for who-knows-where unless I can figure out a better way to secure it.

I took advantage of the discounts to get the slim keyboard cover. Had the same cover for my S9+ but even if the size were the same, updating still required -- connector pins on the S11 Ultra are now on the back, not on the side. Cover has a small flap that automatically snaps up to connect when the Tab is placed in typing position. All worked perfectly the first time.

Overall performance: The S11Ultra feels smoother and snappier than did my S9+. I did find myself grabbing the SPen and using it rather than fingertip touch to navigate screens. Will see if that continues.

Overall, quite pleased with the Tab S11 Ultra.

What colour did you get?

I've noticed that Samsung tablets are fussy in terms of lighting for facial recognition. I had to have bright light to register facial recognition on my Galaxy Tab S10FE. Fingerprints registered without any issues.

Sounds like a solid upgrade

Well, I've been rocking the Tab S11 Ultra for nearly 2 months now and thought I'd share impressions. In fact, I am typing this post on the keyboard folio case and it is just about as responsive as my PC keyboard. This cover is lightweight and extremely easy to connect. No fuss, no fiddling, just slide the inner edge toward the groove just above the keys and the Tab automatically connects with the connector flap. It is a change from the previous models, but works flawlessly for me so far.

Overall, I really like this S11U. It is noticeably larger than the S8+/S9+ versions that preceded it, but I have been able to adjust to it. It is a bit awkward to read when lying in bad at night: a little clumsy to hold. Since the folio keyboard cover is just magnetic, I sometimes just slip it off while reading, then snaps right back into place. Battery life has been great. Graphics, videos, streaming -- all are flawless and crisp/clear.

My only complaint deals with Samsung's design change to leave the SPen exposed by magnetically attaching it to the edge of the tab, rather than on the back as in the previous models. I was trying to be VERY PROTECTIVE of the SPen whenever moving about, but sure enough, I get home from an appointment 30 miles away to find the SPen missing. Figured it must have fallen free when leaving the facility. Sure enough, two days later I check the parking space at the same facility and there is the SPen, obviously run over a couple times -- plastic housing cracked in several places. Good news: it still works, but it no longer lives attached to the edge of the Tab. I attach it overnight for charging, then remove it,

My advice on the SPen: If you use it and/or just want to have it along with you, keep it in your pocket, purse, bag, or briefcase. I can almost guarantee it will go wandering if you attach it to the edge of the tab.

Overall, if it were not for the SPen issue, I would give the S11U a hearty 5 Stars, But since the SPen is supposed to be a key component, I downgrade to 4 Stars due to the design for attachment.
