Can't transfer files from Redmi 7a to PC, freezes up, causes other errors.

Since the very beginning I have issues transfering files to PC. First of all, the device barely loads on Windows 10. Whenever I try to move files or even simply open folders, it freezes. Never had this problem before with any Android device, either from Samsung or LG. Or whatever other brand.

But whenever I connect my Redmi 7a to PC, I have to quickly try to move files before 30 seconds or so. After that, it totally freezes. Or files don't respond. Or explorer.exe doesn't respond. I have to uninstall and reinstall drivers as well to TRY to at least manage to manage files. But after some time, it's back. I get a green riboon of death (eternally hanging) problem, a "Catastrophic failure" message, 0x80042009 error etc.
Can someone help me with this problem? I'm going nuts!

Sounds like a Windows problem. Can you test it on a different PC?

Have you also tried different cables? Are you using a native USB port on the PC, or a USB hub?

Yes, tested on a laptop with Windows 7. Nothing changed. Tried with three different cables (including Xiaomi one). Native USB ports only. Both 2.0 and 3.0.

Lol, debugging was the very first thing I tried. No, it didn't solve. Nothing I could find in the internet ever solved.

does the pc have all the latest updates? if not it could be trying to update as you are trying to transfer files.
