Can't type password into Galaxy S6 after restart

Message saying "Samsung keyboard has stopped working" (I don't even use it, I'm on Swiftkey!) kept appearing, so I performed a restart thinking this would clear it. When I try and type my password into the restart screen, no keyboard appears - I'm locked out of my own phone........

I think that the password input screen must call the Samsung keyboard, which is still not working

You could try a basic USB keyboard connected via OTG.
