Cant update google chrome or android system webview

[Android Central Question]

Android system WebView won't update which causes Google chrome not to update, have tried all the cache/storage cleaning suggestions, everything but no luck. I am not too techy so when is google going to supply a simple fix for this, very frustrating. Thanks.

Try updating one at a time, clear data then force stop play store

Check if your Google play store has an update. In play store go to settings, scroll down to about, and then hit update play store.

Also try install the beta version here to see if it updates. https://forums.androidcentral.com/e...om.google.android.webview.beta&token=SWThjlGz... if not you might have to manually install the latest version from a third party.

Welcome to Android Central! It's important to know which Android version you're using, because from Nougat through Pie, Android System Webview was disabled by default, since Chrome functioned as the webview app in those versions. Starting with Android 10, ASW was re-enabled.

Also, I've seen it where the Play Store can't update both at the same time -- i.e., if Chrome is being updated, you can't also select ASW to be updated. If you were to tap the Update button for ASW, then Chrome would suddenly stop updating. I'm not sure why that happens, but the thing to do is to just let whatever is updating finish, and then tap the Update button again.
