Can't update or install any apps from the Google Play store

All of a sudden I get an error "insufficient storage available" when I try to update or install any apps from the Google play store. I have deleted the cache for the Play store app and restarted my phone, but I am still having the problem. Any help?

Go into Menu > Settings > Applications and sort the applications by size. Clear the cache for the apps with high memory usage and consider deleting apps at the top of this list which you no longer use.

I have 1.6GB available local storage and almose 1GB of RAM available.

Huh? You need to sort the applications by size and clear the cache of the apps with high memory.

I've cleared the cache of ALL the apps. Still same results.
