Can't wait for the M10

This guy tested the sound volume exactly as you described from 20 feet away and he thought it was pretty loud and so do I. Go to 7:00 minute mark and check it out.

Yeah, that's better. Nothing like the demo model I tried. Not sure why it sounded so low.

I went to a tmobile store to checkout the s6. While I was there two ladies were undecided between the s6 and m9. They asked for my opinion and I simply said the s6 had a superior camera- and they went with the s6.

So two ladies asked you for your opinion and you are a total stranger and do not work at the store? How exactly did this go down? They just randomly sparked a conversation with you instead of an actual sales person in the store? Were you trying to pick them up or what.

Thats cruel! you could have atleast informed them that TW is terrible and the lag that is already on the device will only get worse over time - Adam

Well they played with the devices and could have made that decision on their own. They also loved the screen on the s6 and not the M9.

No. We were in the same section looking at the phones. They were talking to each other debating their choices. When they saw me comparing the screen of my note 4 side by side with the s6 they asked me what phone I had. I told them the note 4 and that I was comparing the two screens. That's when they asked me. Maybe because all the reps were occupied and they felt I was knowledgeable with phones.

How is demanding what every other manufacturer is putting out "dumb"? To some, great pictures are very important and if Apple, LG and Sammy is getting it right then why can't HTC? It's foolish to call someone elses wishes "dumb" just because you are a fanboy of HTC. Its simple, HTC has had YEARS to get the camera right and each and every time they FAIL!! I don't understand why they opened themselves up to such ridicule from all the powerhouse reviewers. They had an awesome opportunity to grab headlines that this is the best phone on the market but they failed all because they seem to refuse to test and put a proper Quality Assurance process in place.

I have to agree that buying a phone based solely on a camera is dumb. I get that we use it a bit with Instagram, Twitter, Facebook and capturing some memories but overall it's probably only 10-15% of the overall usage of a phone.

If your camera usage is higher, it's time to invest in your hobby properly and get a DSLR.

You tell us, your the one who has fabricated this comment.

There's a quite vast difference between someone saying "buying a phone based solely on a camera is dumb" and what you are "quoting" - Adam

What. You didn't tell them the m9 had superior sound quality, Superior external speakers, Superior materials used, Superior OS, Superior design that sits comfortably in the palm*of the hand and also Micro sd card support. Things that the s6 lacks.

Let's hope there isn't an M involved in the name. That would mean it is another iteration of the M7. If they end up calling it something else I will know right away before it gets "leaked" that new design language is coming.

The M9 is a wonderful device...for some...not so wonderful to others. Like all devices on the market it has strengths and weaknesses. Smartphones are all in one devices that started out as just plain old phones that were used to just make calls. Thankfully that has all changed today.

My point is because smartphones appeal to the masses and not just one type of person, they can be used in a multitude of ways. What a buyer looks for in a device will vary dramatically. Saying someone is dumb for choosing a feature that is important to them because it's not important to you, is ignorance. Same goes for suggesting they should purchase a dslr because they chose a device with a feature more suited for THEM and not YOU.

Purchase any device based on what's important to YOU. It could be the display, camera, phone quality, sound etc. However stop criticizing people for the choices they make based on their personal preference.

Buy the device YOU like, it's YOUR money. If the device fails to meet your expectations then return it or sell it and try something new. If you choose to share your experience, great.

Bottom line, fanboys will be fanboys and haters are gonna hate. They know who they are and so do we.

Here's the thing. Carrying a DSLR is great for scheduled events you know about like graduations and weddings but let's be real. Many on here have young children and the best moments you want to capture are spontaneous. The best moments in life generally happen out of the blue. For that reason you need a capable still and video phone camera. It isn't dumb for it to be your number one priority.

Choosing a phone due to camera over build quality and UI is all kinds of crazy in my eyes.

What are you using these photos for? advertisement and print?

The M9 actually takes extremely nice photos and only slightly falls short of the S6.

If your that serious about photo quality get yourself a DSLR because it will blow any phone camera out of the water - Adam

He could easily be taking pictures of his kids or something important in that nature and in that respect Auto mode is what you need to be good. And the GS6 has one of the best point and shoot cameras on the market easily beating the M9. For the M9 you have to work for your shots to get a great one which some people love and some people hate. And for any phone you can get a good shot out of it if you work hard enough so inevitably the M9 has actually a bad camera yet again.

TW may be terrible to you I personally like it now but that's a difference in aesthetics at best. But what you said about the software could be said about any phone.

Yes, yes, that's subjective, subjective again, subjective again, that's true, and all and all you sound like you kind of have a disliking for Samsung.

The M that is in front of the past few flagship HTC phones were previously just classified names for each and every HTC flagship. For example the HTC One X was the M6. So them putting a different letter in front of the name won't convince me of a changed design because that's what they have called all of their flagships under the radar since HTC's inception.

blessedred,

Were you going for the record for the most consecutive posts in the same thread?

I agree with some of your thoughts, but sound quality and speakers are actually quantifiable. Not really subjective at all.

I do not have a disliking for Samsung. They have upped there game with the S6 and S6 edge. Very good looking devices and improved build quality especially the edge. I am a little disappointed though with Samsung for doing away with micro sd card support. That is one of the Important features I look for in a phone, being able to carry all my music library with me on a memory card. I wouldn't be able to afford a 128gb phone anyway

But good luck to Samsung. Just hoping that they can beat Apple.
