Hi! I just bought this SD card online and after around 2 days a notification that says "Can't write to SD card" appeared. Because of that I can't delete or move files into the SD card. I tried formatting the SD card hoping that it would be fine but the notification still appears afterwards. I unmounted my SD card for a month and thought that it should rest and I inserted it just yesterday. I thought it would be fine now but the notification still appears. What do I do? I don't want my money to be wasted just like that. btw, its a San Disk SD Card with 64 gb capacity and my phone is Samsung Galaxy A10s. pleasee helppp!

Update 13 min after: I turned off my phone, unmounted the SD card, and inserted it again. As I turned on my phone the SD card is now "not inserted" on My Files and I looked up to my settings and found that SD card is "corrupted" what do I do with this?

Welcome to Android Central! Where did you get the card from? Counterfeit cards are unfortunately quite common, especially if you buy them from random online sellers instead of well-known retailers.

If it's a legitimate card from a well-known brand (like Sandisk), it's still possible that the card is simply defective. Most good SD card manufacturers have a warranty, so you could try contacting them and asking about it.

i just bought it from random online sellers, the seller already refunded me but yet I'm still hoping that I can use or recycle or do something with this SD card.

If you want to try the card from a start-over point of view, put it into a card reader on your computer and do a deep formatting and see what happens.

I'm glad you got a refund. My guess is that it's counterfeit, and is much smaller in size than it claims. This is a common practice, and when the user inevitably exceeds the true storage of the card, the data gets corrupted. Read this article: How to Spot a Fake MicroSD Card and Avoid Being Scammed

i followed the article u sent me and how to run a h2testw. then, this image appeared and the process stopped. what does it mean?

wdym of deep formatting? is it the same with the format button when you right click on the SD Card?

There are two types of formatting:
- quick -- just writes a new, empty root folder to the device (takes a 1-2 seconds)
- deep -- rewrites the whole device with a new file system, destroys the old data, every sector reset and analyzed (can take hours depending on the size of the device)
