Capacitive Buttons light after updat

I'm on T-Mobile and just got the update that fixed the capacitive buttons yesterday. I noticed that after the update the buttons would stay lit all the time (which is how I would like it), but today they are only lighting up when it gets really dark. Anyone else experiencing this? Or does anyone know a way to get them to stay lit? I tried that app but it didn't seem to work for me.

HTC needs to put either an on-off-auto toggle or a sensitivity adjustment slider for the soft buttons. Mine never are on unless I'm in a totally dark room. After the update it seems like the active zone for the buttons is slightly larger so I do a little less stabbing around for the right spot (since I can't SEE the stoopit thing!), but still I miss it on the first try a lot of the time. When the buttons are lit I never miss.

The app Soft Buttons Light doesn't work properly on the HTC One, but it will keep the button lights on until the screen turns off if you hit "disable" and then "keep the lights off".

maybe in 4.2? I'm hoping... this issue is the only thing that's a negative for me regarding the One.
