capacitive buttons no longer work

they react to my finger press. they flash once like they are supposed to, but the phone doesn't actually do the command.

Anyone have any ideas?
looks like I'm going to have to unroot and then return it.

Perhaps unrooting and returning to stock will fix your button issues?

doubt it. I've been rooted since September.

I haven't changed my rom in at least a month, probably more

Well that's the first I've heard of that issue. By chance did you drop your phone recently? Wonder if something on the board got fried or something...

nope. That's good thinking though.

Yeah, its really strange. I've tried soft reset, wiping cache, and a few other things. Seems like I'm going to have to give a hard reset a try.
For the mean time I have to use the buttons on the physical keyboard. Thank goodness this phone has those.
